Let’s restore safer sidewalks for pedestrians. Electric vehicles should not be permitted on sidewalks and users should be required to have a bell or horn—or face a fine—to help ensure compliance.

As technology evolves, we need to consider separating how roads and sidewalks are used. Let’s begin with the basics: clear rules, practical enforcement and safer shared spaces.

Putting the residents of Ward 22 at the center of every decision means listening to our neighbours, understanding their concerns and working together on practical solutions for safer streets, better transportation, stronger local programs and a cleaner, more connected community.

I will make it a priority to travel throughout every part of the ward, identifying problems early and working to address them before they become more serious.

Responsible government requires accountability, transparency and making every tax dollar count. Residents deserve truthful leadership, responsible spending, clear communication and decisions that reflect the needs of our community.

To improve communication, I will use video updates, provide multilingual support through my office and send useful, timely emails. My office will return calls within 48 hours at the latest.

I will advocate for the completion of the Sheppard Subway and push for dedicated left-turn signals at busy intersections. I will also support removing turn barriers that are repeatedly knocked down and replaced and I will oppose applying the “creative” traffic engineering used on Huntingwood Drive to other neighbourhoods in the ward.

I will support Canadian, Ontario and Toronto businesses, employment and culture. I will promote buying Canadian whenever possible and advocate for suspending property and business taxes for new businesses during their first two years.

I will work with all levels of government to explore youth-employment initiatives and education grants for students. I will also support cultural and charitable events by seeking to reduce the high cost of mandatory police presence.

Our parks should serve residents of all ages. I will advocate for additional play equipment in parks that currently lack it, as well as more benches for people who walk, exercise, or simply need a place to rest.

I understand the challenges facing residents and business owners because I not only live in Ward 22—I also own a business here. As Rob Ford used to say, “I have had to meet a payroll every two weeks and watch my costs every day.”
